Action Alert - March Against Privatisation

12 noon - meet in the university Quad; or 1pm - meet at parliament.

This week Victoria University of Wellington Students Association (VUWSA) is orgaising a March against Privatisation whhich is part of the conference most of you will know about. This march will include Uni students, polytech students, unemployed, unions, people involved in the fight against the privatisation of education, health, water, roads etc etc.............the list goes on!!

Everyone from the conference will be coming along, people from all over New Zealand and Australia. This march will be an excellent time to unite the stuggle against privatisation and to take our anger to Parliament, the people that are pushing the whole agenda.

The march will be held on Thursday 13th August, meeting at 12.00 in the Uni Quad, or meet at parliament at 1pm. Anyone that is interested, please come along, your support would be greatly appreciated!

This government has attacked the people of New Zealnd too many times. This is a united fight back. Together our voices can be heard. Please tell everyone you know about this march.

CONFERENCE DETAILS ...

Anti-Privatisation Conference: With privatisation in full flight in education, health, local body utilities, water, workers holidays, treaty rights, firefighting, and the ACC it is time to organise a systematic response. To this end the Victoria University of Wellington Students' Association has called together a National Conference Against Privatisation. Speakers include Professor Jane Kelsey, Antonio Tujan from IBON International in the Philippines, Brian Easton, Maxine Gay, John Ryall and Mike Smith from the Foundation for an Independent Aotearoa. Plenty of time has been allocated to the important task of organising a broad anti-privatisation movement into the future. The Conference is being held in the Student Union Complex at Victoria University of Wellington from Thursday-Sunday. It costs $30 for individuals, $80 for organisations.
